Welcome to Chapter Website of Austin ACM SIGGRAPH

We are the Austin, Texas Metropolitan Area Professional Chapter of ACM SIGGRAPH.

Austin ACM SIGGRAPH's purpose:
・ To share information on computer graphics and interactive techniques with the Austin digital arts and media community.
・ To facilitate the networking of professionals in the local and national digital arts and media communities.
・ To foster the growth of community amongst the varied disciplines, organizations and companies that fall within the Austin digital arts and media community.
・ To highlight the work and accomplishments of individual artists and companies from the local digital art and media community,
・ To share information on legislative news and events that may affect the digital artist and business communities.
・ And this year, to promote the 2010 ACM SIGGRAPH national convention, held in Los Angeles in July.

Game On! Texas is a groundbreaking symposium designed to bring together thought leaders from our state education and business communities to discuss challenges and possible solutions for video games education in Texas.

Speakers include keynoyes Texas Governor Rick Perry and Alan Gershenfeld, President, E-Line Media, and Chairman, Games for Change; Warren Spector, president of Junction Point/Disney Interactive Studios; Richard Vogel, co-studio director of BioWare Austin, and Gary Gattis, president of Spacetime Studios and chapter chair for IGDA Austin, amongst others.

You’re invited to the latest annual event of the Austin ACM SIGGRAPH chapter, featuring door prizes, free food and beverage, screening of the 2009 Computer Animation Festival Competition, and a sneak peek at the 2010 SIGGRAPH convention, July 25-29 in Los Angeles.

Meet and greet our newly elected officers, as well as chapter advisors and members of the visual effects, design, film and video games communities in Austin, in the ballroom at the the ultra-swanky HighBall, with a stage and large screen.

The Computer Animation Festival Competition Screening presents the best of 2009's computer animation, including visual effects, animated shorts, excerpts from motion pictures, game cinematics, student work, scientific visualization, abstract art, and more.
